Quadro's Comil type Overdriven

The Quadro Comil Overdriven mill is available in 5 models with capacities ranging from 0 to 40,000 lb/hr (0-16,000kg/hr). All models of the Comil are scaleable. By adjusting the impeller speed to maintain tip velocity, the same particle size distribution can be achieved on all models using similar screen sizes. The Comil is manufactured of stainless steel, making it suitable for use in the food, pharmaceutical, personal care/cosmetic and fine chemical industries. Each model is available at 3 different categories (Basic, Premium, Ultra). Countless options/customisations are available to allow the user to select the mill best suited for his application.

Innovative Technology for Size Reduction:

Low heat
  • Excellent for milling products with low melting point and high fat content.

    Low dust
  • savings on dust collection/explosion retention devices.
  • minimal product loss.
  • environmentally friendly.

    Optimum particle distribution
  • ability to achieve desired particle granulometry.

    User friendly design
  • quick screen change.
  • easy clean, low maintenance.
  • flexible feeding conditions-manual, mechanical, or pneumatic.
  • optimum results with plug feeding.
  • Plug feed capability. (feed devices not required) Versatility
  • Various screens and impellers with many specialized tools are available to accomplish any process requirements.

    Principle of Operation:

The infeed product falls into the conical screen chamber. A rotating impeller imparts a vortex flow pattern to the incoming material. The material is then forced to the screen surface by centrifugal acceleration ensuring continuous delivery into the "action zone" between the screen and impeller. In the "action zone" the material is sized and instantaneously discharged through the screen openings. The finished product is discharged at the bottom of the milling chamber. Particle size can be optimised by screen, impeller and speed selection.
